“Padmaavat” is yet to take a call on whether to release the movie in Bihar or not. Bihar government banned the movie which was to release on 1st December 2017, but due to certain scenes and songs, the movie didn’t get the “U/A” certificate from CBFC. The four states of India had already banned the release of a movie “Padmaavat”. The movie, which was recently cleared by the central board of film certificate (CBFC), is now releasing at certain parts of India on 25th January 2018.

Despite a slight change in the title of the movie from “Padmavati” to “Padmaavat” and some modification asked by CBFC, the 3 states are against the release of the movie. According to sources, “Uttar Pradesh has given the green signal to the movie” said Yogi Adityanath, UP CM. Film exhibitors in Bihar are keeping their fingers crossed because they said the home department will take a final call on whether to release in a state or not.

“After making certain modification in the film and the producer planned to release the movie on 25th January 2018, but we have not been approached till now”, said Sharad Kumar, Manager of Mona Cinema Hall, Bihar.

Further, He added “If Bihar government allowed the movie to release in the city, then the film will definitely be screened in Mona Hall”. According to sources, Ravi Kumar, Patna DM said, “He was still to receive an instruction’s on the film’s release”.
