Gautam Gambhir Slams Dhoni For His Captaincy In 2012. Here’s What He Said

Gautam Gambhir retired from all forms of cricket recently and it was a sad moment for all the fans. Days after announcing the retirement, Gambhir has called off MS Dhoni for his captaincy and attitude in 2012.

Remembering an interaction with Dhoni back in 2012, he questioned his decision making skills and attitude. Gambhir revealed that Dhoni had told him in 2012 that he can’t select all three of them i.e. Gambhir, Sachin And Sehwag for World Cup 2015.

While he was surprised to see World Cup Team being selected 3 years prior, he said that Dhoni said that he wants to give more chances to the young players. Dhoni allegedly told Gambhir that keeping 3 senior players will leak runs on the field.

However, Gambhir revealed that all three were kept in the World Cup considering the fact India was struggling for runs in the matches. Gambhir and Tendulkar played 7 matches in the series while Sehwag played in 5.

Taking a dig on Dhoni’s captaincy he said that one must be able to back his decisions and should not change it with time.

We wonder what MS Dhoni has to say on this.
