A lot of times in the Cricket things go out of hands and it becomes a drama. But the players have proved times and again that it’s a gentlemen’s game.
This time, however, an umpire proved that when it comes to game and discipline nothing is more important. The 5th ODI match between Sri Lanka and England was disrupted by rainfall but the former team had done enough to get it in their hands.
The target for Team England was 367 which they couldn’t chase well. 8 wickets of England were down at a score of just 132, it was 27th over and Liam Plunkett couldn’t understand the delivery of Akila Dhananjaya which proved to be a reason of lbw out.
Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar called it an out but Plunkett opted for the review. Soon the rainfall started and all the players started moving towards the dressing room. This is when the umpire Aleem Dar showed what he is made of. He waited in the rain till the result of the review was declared. It was an Out so he raised his finger once again declaring it an Out and then moving outside the stadium. Watch the video-
Twitter is lauding Dar for his act since then. Have a look at the reactions-
Isn’t it amazing?
