If your back is killing you, you are not alone. Half of the American workers are familiar with this unpleasant sensation of lower back pain. And although many people choose pain relievers, this is not always the most effective way to treat them.
In fact, changing some of the things we do on a daily basis can help us eliminate the problem at its roots. We decided to take a closer look at the seemingly harmless daily habits that can eventually twist your spine.
You Wear Tight Skirts And High Heels

Although pencil skirts can turn the head, they can also cause back pain. Tight skirts can restrict the movement of the hips, causing strain on the spine.
The same is true when you wear a pair of high heels – these shoes bring your feet to an unnatural height, which in turn causes the muscles in your lower back to move.
To enjoy fashion without sacrificing health, opt for skirts that allow your legs to move freely and opt for shoes with heels less than 2 centimeters.
You’re Drinking Soda Often

Drinking sugary beverages is not the healthiest way to keep energy high, and in addition to many other health risks, it can also make back pain worse. The habit of drinking sugary sodas can lead to kidney stones, which can cause severe back pain.
Drinking carbonated beverages also traps gas in your digestive system and puts pressure on your spine. If your back hurts after drinking a glass of coke, it may be time to think about increasing your water intake.
You’re Stressed Out
When the body releases stress hormones, it causes muscles to instinctively contract. The tension in the muscles, in turn, leads to painful sensations in the neck, shoulders, and back. Studies have shown that including relaxation in your daily routine can effectively improve back pain.
You’re Sleeping On The Wrong Pillow
When you sleep on a pillow that is too big, you might like the feeling of comfort, but you hate the resulting back pain. Most pillows place the head in an unnatural position, putting pressure on the neck and spine, causing pain and insufficient sleep.
If you can’t imagine sleeping without a pillow, find one that fits your own measurements and place another between or below your knees. These sleeping positions have been shown to relieve stress on the spine.
You’re Washing Dishes The Wrong Way
Leaning over the sink while washing the dishes puts pressure on your lower back, causing tension in the muscles in that area. If you hold this position for a few minutes, you can hurt your back on a daily basis.
To avoid straining your lower back, place one leg on a stool. This will help you adjust your posture and prevent you from stretching your back.
You Take The Stairs Often
Although walking up and downstairs is generally considered a healthy habit, it is not the best way to stay in shape if you have low back pain. If you suffer from knee or back pain, it is best to consult your doctor before using the stairs as a way to get more exercise.
