Delhi Doctor Tests +ve For COVID-19, 800 People He Came In Contact With Quarantined

The novel coronavirus is rapidly taking its toll over the country. Though the entire nation is kept under lockdown for 21 days to stifle the spread of the deadly virus, fresh cases of COVID-19 positive patients continue to come to light in different parts of India.

As of now, the number of coronavirus positive cases in India has surged to 649 with 15 deaths. Meanwhile, a doctor in Delhi’s Shahadra area who runs a mohalla clinic has also tested positive for COVID-19. His family members including his 48-year-old wife and 17-year-old daughter have also tested positive, reports News 18.

“A total of 800 people who came in contact with the mohalla clinic doctor have been quarantined for 14 days,” Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain told HT.

He reportedly tested positive after a woman who has returned from Saudi Arabia visited his clinic on March 21. The doctor and his family have been kept under isolation and undergoing treatment at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital in Delhi.

With this, the number of coronavirus positive cases in the national capital have jumped to 36.

We hope none of the 800 people who came in contact with the doctor test positive. Fingers crossed!
