According to The Hindu, District Principal and Sessions Judge K. Sai Rama Devi opened the Sangareddy court premises over the weekend and fed 100 underprivileged people along with DSP P Sridhar Reddy. The food was prepared by the Sangareddy Prison department.

“I am humbled by the response I got. Justice Dr. Shameem Akhtar of Telangana High Court has promised to take care of food expenses for three days while my husband and I will fund the food from April 1 to 7. Even my sister who is a pediatrician in the USA has promised me her contribution apart from my bother and my in-laws. Then Judicial Officers, my court staff contributions will ensure we can feed any needy till the lockdown period is over.”

According to News18, 50 Bareilly-based transgenders have teamed up to provide biscuits and fruits to daily wage earners and have also put in a request to start a community kitchen. In Prayagraj, 30 transgenders are distributing essentials to those in need.

One of them was quoted saying,

“We have stationed ourselves near the temples because most of the homeless and migrants come here for relief. We are using our savings to help people caught in the lockdown.”

Kudos, to all these good samaritans for leading by example and showing us that humanity always comes first.
