Thai King Self-Isolates In German Luxury Hotel With A Harem Of 20 Women Amidst Pandemic

The coronavirus has reached the remotest parts of the planet. And like most countries, several parts of Thailand are also put under lockdown. Recently, the Thai government ordered the closing down of more public facilities and businesses to curb the spread of the virus. It has also extended its existing lockdown until the end of April, reported India Today.

And like most of the people in the country, the king has also been self-isolating, but in a luxury hotel with his entourage in Germany. As reported by The Independent, King Maha Vajiralongkorn, also known as Rama X, has booked an entire four-star hotel to practise home quarantine.

The Grand Hotel Sonnenbichl in Bavaria is said to have received special permission from the district council to accommodate the 67-year-old king’s entourage. FYI, it includes a harem of 20 women and numerous servants, reported Mail Online.

However, it’s not clear if his fourth wife is currently staying at the hotel with him or not. But reportedly, the 119 members of his royal entourage are sent back to Thailand amid concerns they had contracted Covid-19.

Reports suggested that King Vajiralongkorn has a second home in Germany where he’s been spending a lot of time and has not made a public appearance in his home country since February.

People online were irked by his ‘self-isolation’ in a luxury location with his entourage. Here’s what they said:

While the King has been isolating in a luxury spa hotel in Germany, unrest seems to have grown in his own country with the 136 new coronavirus cases being reported on Monday, taking the total to 1,524. Hope he’s doing enough for his people while isolating himself in a different country.
